D-Day - Morning

Today is my official due date, although only like 5 or 10% of women actually deliver on their due date. It's a bit surreal to know that all these weeks of waiting and watching the tummy get bigger are officially ending. I have la-la-loved being pregnant and enjoyed bonding with Kyle and our families. I am pleased I wrote this blog to remind me of all the fun times and how I felt as each moment arrived. In a silly twist of fate, the episode of "Sex & the City" I randomly selected to play as I write this is the episode where one of the main characters, Miranda, finally gives birth to her son.

I am not feeling any additional urges to "nest", although I am thinking that I should finish the things that don't realllllly need to get done but might as well, such as packing my bag for the hospital. It's mostly packed and since I plan to do most of my laboring at home, I figured I will have plenty of time to throw the last things into the bag, Instead, I will now be packing everything, including the iPod with playlist, speakers, walkie-talkies, video camera, digital camera & all those cords, (note to self: bring extension/expansion cord).

Tonight, we are planning to take our cars to the fire department to make sure the car seat bases are properly installed. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, as many as 85 percent of all car seats are improperly installed. We are also going to see the Harry Potter movie, which should be interesting because Ace kicked me hard throughout the last movie we saw, "Up", which was super cute.

Tick-tock! xoxo

  2. thank you!! I do intend to continue writing and including more recipes, pictures and eventually making the Cliff Notes to pregnancy.... I hope you stay tuned!

    This adventure is just beginning!

PS- Megan, remember how much fun we had when we met in High School through a theater troupe that went to inner city schools and performed assemblies about safe sex? Acting out the various characters with their sex-related issues was a great way to connect with the students and I remember the many girls that would hug us afterward, tears in their eyes. Good times. =)
