ONE WEEK UNTIL WE FIND OUT IF ACE IS A BOY OR GIRL!!!
Overall Mood: Eager!!! So close to finding out if Ace is a boy or girl! We are both saying that we just want a healthy baby - but isn't that pretty much the standard thing to say? We both hope it isn't a giraffe.
Body Changes: The Bump keeps getting bigger, but it also shrinks at times. It's quite interesting to watch it go up & down, day-to-day. I really need to start exercising... it's just so cold outside and I'm not really one to be active on a routine basis. But I think it's time to finally deal with it and get moving. Kyle and I are looking at doing a charity Walk for Hunger - I need to verify with my Dr. that I will be able to at least attempt the 3+ mile walk. It would be a nice goal for which to train.
Emotions: I have been especially goofy this week, which was a good thing because I have apparently lost most of my logic skills and am continually having "blond-moments", as Kyle and I lovingly call them. We have been busy trying to find the perfect nursery linens... this has been a fun, yet tedious, shopping experience. Check the links in the right-hand tool bar!!
Flavors: This week, I was elated to help make Kylee's amazing Enchilada's with the fabulous Zatarain's Spanish Rice, (a box of rice, a can of tomatoes = satisfaction). We also made a chicken-mushroom-risotto, with peanut butter brownies and cookie dough ice cream. Yum. No wonder my tummy looks so big today. ;)
Appreciation: This week, I had a a few instances at work that made me especially grateful for my team at work. My boss and colleague went out of their way to help me make progress on an important account. Not only are my supervisor and team great, the rest of my colleagues are hard-working and good people. I feel so fortunate to be at a company that is continuing to grow and expand.
Baby Steps: The big gender debate!!! I can feel Ace moving around and Ace can now officially hear our voices, so we are having fun times talking and telling stories. Movement varies, but I would say I can tell Ace shifting around about 5 times a day, especially when I'm laying down.

Some research suggests that Ace may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to Ace, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you. Ace weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Ace's arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of the body now. Ace's kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on the scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on the skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

ReplyDeleteWill "Ace" remain a part of the final name, as a middle name or something? orrr, even trickier as a part of an existing name.. Grace, Mace, Wallace, etc. ..maybe not Wallace.
I like giraffe's... I think they are cute. But then we'd have to move to somewhere with cathedral ceilings, get a new car - and where on Earth could we find a school system to really accommodate such a special child? It would be a giant headache, although maybe I could meet Oprah? I hear she likes giraffes.

I think you should name him Kelby. It's a great name.
