25 Weeks - Strawberries & Body Shock

Overall Mood: Still feeling great but experienced my first real "body shock" while at the doctor for our 24-week appointment. I stepped on the scale and, depending on what we randomly choose as my pre-pregnancy weight, I've put on 16-21 pounds. It might not seem like that much, but when you step on the scale and see the numbers climb way past what you are used to, it's a shock. This is why I usually don't watch the scale- instead, cover my eyes and say "lie to me!"

Body Changes: See above.

Emotions: I'm way behind on my posts... I've been very um, distracted. I just didn't have the desire to sit down & write... which is unusual, because I really enjoy talking about myself. I have noticed this trend since becoming pregnant... even my birthday was unimportant. Looks likes I'm slowly but surely becoming a Mommy.

Flavors: In light of my recent facial dry skin that is so bad, it almost looks like a small rash, I gave up strawberries after hearing they might cause the irritation. I defrosted some of Kylee's Famous Enchilada Sauce and made enchiladas... yum! I roll the tortillas around pulled chicken, refried beans, black beans and sometimes cheese, topped with tons of Enchilada sauce. In order to add some nutrients, I added matchstick carrots, (you know, when they are like shredded). It was a nice texture and good way to add veggies to dinner. I also

Appreciation: I'm grateful for a high metabolism and all those years of being thin.

Baby Steps: Kyle was finally able to feel Ace moving!! It was truly awesome... earlier in the day, I was able to SEE movement under my shirt, so I was especially excited for Kyle to come home. When he arrived, Ace woke up to greet Daddy, (as he usually does), but wasn't kicking hard enough to feel until after dinner, which is his usual "work-out time", (or so it seems).

Ace Update: (almost verbatim from BabyCenter.com) Head to heels, Ace now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
